Holding companies

Open Holding is formed to own and oversee interests in other companies. A holding company is the owner: shares and related interests sit beneath one parent.

That structure keeps the map of a group orderly. What is owned, how it is held, and how decisions move from the parent to an operating company can be seen in one place.

This is a registered activity of Open Holding. It is the centre of the company.

Investment in commercial enterprises and management

The second registered activity pairs investment with management. Capital is aimed at commercial enterprises — companies that trade, produce and employ.

Management is the work that follows. Direction, oversight and the practical running of an enterprise belong with the investment, not after it as an optional extra.

Open Holding does not describe this as a promise of returns. It is the discipline of owning an operating business and staying involved in how it is run.

  • Operating businesses
  • Active oversight
  • Commercial enterprise
